Painting - Starry Night over the Rhone
By Vincent van Gogh

Genesis

The wakeful night scribbled the stars
On pages, dark and adorned with scars
Sliced moon lulled behind the silky shroud
Loneliness walked through raucous crowd

Thick mist engulfed the forlorn shore
Ocean released a tale from its core
Silence echoed in an unknown place
Winds whispered in a quivering bass

Words shredded from a wrinkled quill
Ink ignited itself to embrace the chill
A poet dwelled in the moment bygone
From ashes of memories, poetry was born
